Grade-a-rama!!!

Well the examiner was very impressed with the work she saw today......"I have EV'd for LCF's foundation and this work is to the same standard, if not better" so well done guys!

AND we are 25% above benchmark for D grades - "Which reflects the high standards I am seeing here"

I did feed her lots of choccy biscuits ;0)

So I guess everyone wants their grades then??

Next week I have training 9-5pm but I wondered whether 2nd years and Foundation could meet the following week on either Tuesday or Thursday. Can I have some dates and times proposed and we will go from there!

If anyone just can't wait to receive their grade in person please email me!

Putting the studio back together!

Hi guys, Harvey from Adage Models ( The agency who did Style in The City), contacted me to do a show on July the 8th, you would need to be free for the majority of that evening as the show starts at around 7.30 .. Firstly can I say how difficult this task has been - every collection has strengths and you have all managed to create a very exciting collection that shows maturity and determination. However, we had to make a decision and here it is. .......

Lilo - Check and press - more pom poms!

Leah - Fix corset

Sonia - Check and press

Talesha - but blue jacket needs to be completed to a high standard and stuffed properly.

Jade - Check and press

Lauren - Pressed properly and sort out the latex dress so it doesn't gape

Lara - Sew the crystals back on, more crystal if possible!

Mel - Change the ribbon on the dress to a more expensive one.

Sarah - Secure shoulder pads properly so they don't drop

We have had three models drop out from the show...... argh!!!....and need to replace them urgently

I need models who are fairly small 8-10 who are not too tall as they will fit into the groups that they have dropped out of.

Sisters, cousins, friends, you?...please? They need to come in tomorrow from 10am till 9pm

I have a TV to bring in, my mum said it is not safe to use as a working tv though, but I thought its better than nothing, and its quite big. I cant bring it in though, if anyone lives in the Stechford, Bordesley Green area let me know???

Hiya Michella just messaged me, she can't post things up on the blog so she just wanted me to let everyone know that the models are coming in from 9-4pm for fittings. And she asked that the Stylists, Hair and Make Up and the Modelling team are at the Fashion Lab for 8.30.

Emily,  my nan is going to be in a wheelchair, so if you have a corner that you can shove her in, I'll have a spare ticket.


Also Kirsty said that she has nine tvs now, but she can't pick them all up herself and it'd be unfair on her mum if she had to ask her to pick ALL of them up. There must be people in class who live in or near Redditch/Edgbaston and Rowley Regis? She can pick up one or two and EMily's going to get three of them. People need to chip in if we're going to have enough .

If you have more show tickets than you need...

Please hand them back as we need to give tickets to new students and models and I didn't calculate this when I was working out numbers. It is not a massive problem but if you do have spares that you can give back I would really appreciate it. Then hopefully we wont have people sitting on the floor again!

I have advertised on Freegle/Freecycle - which is basically a site where people offer or post for wanted items and people will either reply to you with what you want or to take what you're offering. A trade site, simply.
I now have 8 TVs in one day from this, which is good going but I obviously cannot pick them all up myself. Emily Ford- Halliday has offered to pick up three for me, but I have more :)

I have one in Redditch, Rowley Regis, Edgbaston so does anyone live near those locations that might be able to pick them up on their travels? Maybe a parent you can bug, or an uncle or aunt, or sibling that drives?

Editing Music For The Show

A few people have asked weather we can cut down tracks so only a certain section is played or if it can be looped to make it longer. Well i now have a programme for which i can do this. So if you need this doing can you get your track to me as soon as saying what time on the song you want it to start and finish. I will do my best to get it sorted. mattcleaver69@hotmail.com

Hi all

Please be aware that we will be closing grading for everything (except Foundation FMP) on Friday. This means that if anything is outstanding it needs to be on the tutorial table by 9am Friday or it will not be marked.

Little Black Dress?

There were some fashion programmes on BBC 4 last night. I managed to watch the one about Valentino and found it really interesting. He is such a character and a pioneer of his time. Styling

This is what I have in mind for the LBD:

Any thoughts.

For the Hair Project this will be styled, accordingly with the trousers that suit best.

Catastrophe :

I am not sure how to style this, as each garment comes from a completely different scenario, and so are not that cohesive as a collection, so maybe hair and make up team will have a bigger part in this collection.

Back to Black :

I know that some pieces in this collection are just jackets or head pieces, so i was thinking maybe some simple black leggings, or really simple short, shorts.

Any thoughts

RAF : Something very simple, as all these pieces look elegant and muted tones.

I havent seen Sportswear or Senses yet, but I am imagining something quite colourful an bright like the tights in LBD????

Could foundation bring in these garments ASAP!

OLD TV's

Hi we need as many TV's as we can get our hands on...most need to be working but ones that don't work are welcomed too.

Without TV's the press show won't work.... please bring these in asap as they all need to be checked for safety before they can be used.

If you have one but don't have transport, please let everyone know - perhaps we can ask a few parents/staff to help us out on this one by pooling lifts in the same area. If you are Moseley/Kings Heath I can pick up for you.

We need you!

We are 10 days away from what should be one of our strongest shows to date. Most people are working incredibly hard and this is reflected in the quality of the garments/ catalogues/ hair&makeup/music. Unfortunately there are a minority who are not meeting deadlines for music/fiver fund/raffle tickets/garments. You might feel that you are under enough pressure to complete your FMP but by missing deadlines you are causing unnecessary stress and jeopardising the bigger picture.

Please can everyone note the following deadlines...

1. Fiver fund to Lorna by Tuesday 8th June

2. Raffle tickets and money to Lorna by Thursday 10th June - ready for the draw on Friday

3. Plain black Tshirt (can be an old one) - to Adam by Wednesday 9th June

4. Music to Matt by Tuesday 8th June, if you fail to do this your track will be chosen for you.

5. Please bring in old TV's by Monday 14th June

6. FMP lineups for Foundation on Wednesday 9th June

7. The studio will be emptied on Tuesday 15th June ready for set up on the 15th - please be prepared to take everything home. -YES EVERYTHING!!

If you have any problems meeting these deadlines then please see your tutor
