Tickets to Giles Deacon highlights fashion show at the V&A

After queuing on the phone for 1 hour I managed to secure 4 of the last tickets remaining for the Giles Deacon show at the V&A on Friday 17th July at 1pm.

If you would like one of these tickets please blog back and let me know.
First Blog, First Served!

Tickets are free but you would have to make your way to London independently.
(Trainline tickets are about £5 each way if you get them in advance)

The next in the highly acclaimed series of catwalk shows, V&A Fashion in Motion celebrates the work of designer Giles Deacon.

Giles Deacon graduated from Central Saint Martins and worked with Jean Charles de Castelbajac in Paris and Bottega Veneta and Gucci, in Milan, before launching his eponymous label 'Giles' in 2004. His debut received instant international acclaim and brought a renewed focus to London fashion.

Deacon's work mixes a high level of craftsmanship with a whimsical approach often referencing pop-culture. His pieces feature dramatic proportions, startling prints and tactile surface finishes which combine to make elegantly irreverent clothes.

Giles Deacon's Fashion in Motion will be the ultimate fashion experience in the Museum's striking Raphael Gallery

Fashion Update

After a week in the sunshine we are back for two weeks of mayhem before the show.

Some final decisions have been made:

Hair and Makeup - Boyish quiffs with dark eyebrows, one set of models to include crimped hair.

Models - We have about 15 girls and 3 boys , so the hunt continues for more, we need at least 30 so we can get as many peoples garments out on the catwalk as possible.  Please keep looking and collect some model flyers from the model group to hand out.

Invitation/VIP Invite - I will look at this with Graphics

Collection synopsis - Hand in on Wed

Music please hand in your final track to Kris by Friday

Object for catalogue - please hand in your final object and the name of your collection to Tracy at 9am Tuesday 2nd.

T.shirts and masks will be managed by Jess, Nazma, Zeli and Mabz - Black, round neck Tshirts need to be handed in for printing by Tuesday 9th June. Print will be a breast pocket with fashion objects protruding out, the FL mask will only be worn to start the show and at the end before the finale.

Styling for the collections needs to be kept very simple as we will have limited turn around time between the collections.
Black dress - black shoes, black tights
Flotsam - Bare feet
Russia - Brown and purple shoes - net over face?
Sport - Dyed pumps from primark - or painted feet shoes - Emily to investigate how to do this.
Androgyny - With white shirt underneath, high heels

FMP collections - please let EFH know which collection you would rather use.

We have decided to concentrate our efforts on getting people to the show rather than asking for sponsorship as this will give us better opportunities for collaborations next year.

Good Luck everyone

Emily
