Hair stylist
Here are a couple of videos I found on youtube of the styles, I think that we are more than capable if we put our minds to it :) If people can bring in any hairspray, hair elastics, combs or hairbrushes that would be awesome.

I may have gone a little blog crazy but I wanna get all of my information up before I lose the links. I signed up for the newsletter and they sent me this guide s I thought I'd send it on
Hairstyles
I found some styles on this page. The first do reminds me of the original idea that suggested, and then there's a messy side plait. I really think we've been going down the right route with styles because this IS what is on the catwalk, so I don't think our natural idea is taking away from the fact that we are doing a catwalk like some were worrying about.
Keeping Positive ;)

Maria suggests it should be simple but not moving away from the fact that it is still a catwalk show.
Thinking about the show.
What statistics do we know of ?
who are the targeted clients ?
we already know it is a popular event as it has preiviously gathered 33,000 visitors, 61% of whom are male and 31% are female.
so about 70% agree to come and see the show the following year.
The clients spend over £2000 a year on sports wear.
North Face store in Bullring said the age range for clients buying sports ware varies from early teens to mid 50's.
Michael suggests we encorporate a theme throughout the show to make it more interesting.
ideas : Sports wear through the ages, 1930's explorers and skiwear in the 30's this presentation is then presented through projection.

guys have a look at some of the natural looks that everyone was talking about today and im liking the 1st picture louis vutton or erdem. Even though we all opted for a natural look i thought the red lips gave it a kick.

NEC Outdoor Show Team
Everyone spend the weekend thinking about themes, music, hair and make up and styling techniques etc that can be used to make the products look their absolute best. Also remember to be on the scout for models, guys must be of 6ft or above and women 5.8 and above and they must be available on 26th to the 28th.
Can first students please let people who were not at the meeting today know about the arrangements on Monday?
If anyone comes up with any ideas before Monday post them up onto the blog it’s what it is here for.
Here is a look at Wood Wood’s fall winter 2010 show I know the products we are using will not be as fashion orientated and will be more practical that doesn’t mean we cant make them look great, it is a great show take note of the styling!

Thoughts for the end of year show. MAYBE?
Just as kris said in the previous post, fashion films are an excellent way to present your work and are exciting to make aswell. SOOOOO
what if....
try to imagine it :)
We use millennium point, like we did a few years ago and put on an event/exhibition/fashion show/thing :)
this would include 3-4 shows throughout the day. one for 1st years, one for 2nd years, one for foundation and then one for press showcasing the strongest pieces from all three years.
meanwhile we can have sort of cubicles set up where the garments are set up on the manniquinns (excuse the spelling, i just had a major mind blank) and have the fashion films playing in the background. If you do your video rigt, your garments should look fantastic:) and you can capture the movement that they won't get on the stand.
It would probably be better to do this on a saturday though, as a sort of day event which would mean commitment from everyone.
this way it wont matter what time your parents or friends finish work or whatever, they wont miss the show. they can come up before the show, take a look around and then watch it, or watch the show and then take a look around after. or if they can't make it to the actual show then they can just pop up when they have time and take alook around.
TUTOR EMILY! this could work if we used the black box aswell :) like seperate, look arounders from the show veiwers.
ANYWHO, it's just an idea, and i know it seems ambitious, but we are design students who bring ideas to life and there's definatly enough of us.
So yeah, theres an idea. wadda ya think :)

Fashion in film
The second year and foundation students recently had the opportunity to make a fashion film, in collaboration with the ND graphic students so we all know how hard it is to make a successful innovative piece of film.
With the end of year show rapidly approaching I think we need to start thinking about how we want to showcase our work maybe film could be an option for some of us?
Here are a few examples of really interesting fashion films for inspiration.
Enjoy

Ok don't scream too loudly... I feel a trip to London coming on!
3 June – 5 September 2010
Embankment Galleries, South Wing
Open daily 10.00-18.00
Somerset House is proud to host Maison Martin Margiela '20’ The Exhibition, a major exhibition
celebrating 20 years of one of contemporary fashion’s most influential and enigmatic designers.
Martin Margiela formerly worked as design assistant to Jean Paul Gaultier before showing his first collection under his own label in 1988. Employing a ‘deconstructivist’ approach, Margiela displayed a radically new visual language that diametrically opposed the power dressing of the 1980s.
Two decades on and Margiela is widely regarded as one of the reigning luminaries of the current fashion scene, inspiring some of the world’s most important talents such as Marc Jacobs and Prada.
Conceived in close collaboration with Maison Martin Margiela and curated by the Mode Museum, Antwerp, this exciting show makes its London debut following critical acclaim at Antwerp and Haus der Kunst, Munich last year. This ambitious, multi-layered show captures Margiela’s unique aesthetic and vision spanning the past 20 years, by incorporating installations, photography, video and film.
