Look where we are going on Monday!


The Wapping Project is a centre for the arts in East London located in the historic Wapping Hydraulic Power Station. A multipurpose exhibition and performance space, the Wapping project features newly commissioned works by visual artists, choreographers, composers, writers, poets, designers and film makers

Thomas Zanon-Larcher and Jules Wright present the photographic installation A Very French Story this Spring at the Wapping Project, telling a story that spreads across London, Paris and Cognac.

Concept for the Fashion Show

This week there has been a stir at the Fashion:Lab as we begin to think about final major collections and the end of year show!  With Fashion:Lab growing so much we need to start thinking about how on earth we are going to show so many designers work...

Design Competition



Now in its third year Midlands Young Fashion Designer is looking for up and coming fashion designers from the local area to participate in this design competition that will be judge by Gavin Douglas and Sulaimi Brookman.

  • Applicants entering the competition must have a strong desire to pursue a career in the fashion industry
  • Applicants must design and make 3 complete outfits from one of the following categories: Ready to wear, womenswear, or menswear, haute couture and evening wear
  • Garments entered into the competition must be your own work and must not have been entered into any previous competitions
  • 24 Designers will be selected to showcase their collection at the event in October 2010.

Bridget Riley: Flashback

Since the mid-1960s Bridget Riley has been celebrated for her distinctive, optically vibrant paintings that actively engage the viewer’s sensations and perceptions. The exhibition is a first in a new series of solo artist’s exhibitions from the Arts Council Collection and includes the iconic Movement in Squares (1962), which Riley credits as the beginning of her breakthrough into abstraction.

Stitches and Hos are a motley crew of enthusiasts for all things knitted, crocheted and stitched who will be bringing their monthly knitting night to the gallery for this one - off special.

Birmingham's Sugarfoot Stomp Dj’s will be playing all your favorite hits from 1920s - 1960s whilst you knit, and get searching the gallery in the knitted easter egg hunt.

A pay bar will be available serving wine, beer and soft drinks. A cake stand will be selling home made cakes.

London Fashion Week Digital Schedule


The Digital Schedule will launch Friday 19th February at London Fashion Week. This new initiative will bring together live streamed fashion shows and a selection of digitally presented fashion films created by some of London’s most innovative designers.
