Anyone know any designers who have looked at anything to do with dolls? I know Chalayan looked at voodoo. And Adam told me to look at some fashion magazine that has a different theme for each issue but i forgot which one he said.. =S

Another great opportunity fashion design competition from BBC Blast and the V&A.  

Using the V&A on-line collections as inspiration, design your own fashion collection. Winning designers will win fashion masterclasses from industry pros to help them create their collection for the catwalk during London Fashion Week.

The deadline for this competition is 6th June. as you know Sanah has reached the finals of World Skills so there is nothing to stop one of you winning this exciting opportunity.

It you need any advice or help with your ideas bring them along to the Fashion:Lab

2nd years and Foundation - don't forget to enter your Fashion in Film video to the film competition - the deadline is 3rd May.

Unless you have been living in a hole for the past 6 weeks you will be aware that an election has been called.  Most 2nd years would probably admit that 6 weeks ago they knew nothing about politics and most would also probably say that it had nothing to do with them anyway!  Well after a few weeks of political tutorials, including party political broadcasts, debates and discussions about how each party would effect them in the future (we are talking student grants here guys!) today was finally the day we called our own election to see just who would be elected as the new government if Fashion Lab's designers had their way - As promised here's the result  

With a 50% majority.... Lib Dems

Seriously,i'm still shocked at the amount of books that i have been reading since april last year,i know ,it's crazy but sometimes living in books isn't such a boring idea,there are some super duper amazing books out there,i heart new york and los angeles ,the refugee boy,bling,a minor indiscretion,who gets fluffy,dangerous kiss...
seriously guys i can't believe most of you don't know that feeling of excitment when you get to the middle of a great book...

Blade Runner - Film Club

At next Monday's (26th April) Fashion Lab's film club will be showing Blade Runner...

In a cyberpunk vision of the future, man has developed the technology to create replicants, human clones used to serve in the colonies outside Earth but with fixed lifespans. In Los Angeles, 2019, Deckard is a Blade Runner, a cop who specialises in terminating replicants. Originally in retirement, he is forced to re-enter the force when six replicants escape from an off world colony to Earth. A cult, see before you die, movie!

Screening starts at 3pm sharp - bring your own popcorn!
