End Of Year Fashion Show

Before I type up about the outcome of todays meeting... Our next meeting is this Wednesday at 11:30.

So a couple of points on the venue was mentioned. Devita suggested getting in touch with Selfridges underground carpark, and also The Mailbox to as them about units. (I've just read on the blog that Angelines already emailed them)

Sanah Ghazni came up with a great idea for fundraising called a 'Frock Swap'
Basically we all bring in items of unwanted yet wearable items of clothing. You bring a pound for every item you bring in and in return get a ticket for the number of clothes you have brought in. The garments all then get hung up, and depending on the amound of tickets you have - you can then swap them for a garment you want! For example if you bring in two garments, you give in £2 and then in exchange choose 2 items of clothing you want! In Sanahs words - It's recycling, re-using and saving the planet! lol.

We've FINALLY managed to sort people out into teams! The only people who weren't in from first years was Shanice, Emily and Amy. (We'll get in touch with them soon though, and find out what they want to do)

  5. I like Sanah's idea.. and i do like Emily's idea as well. but as poor students do we have enough money to buy them from each other... i think Sanah's idea works because we're raising money and if you can only afford £10 then only bring 10 items. It is a good idea.

Bekki yeah it was lol x

  7. The stylists are the ones who are going to be given a budget to buy accessories, shoes, underwear, tights etc..
And that's actually a really good idea emily! I like both of the ideas:) See what the majority think...

  8. I agree with Tish we didnt have a styling team last year and I dont see what you would be doing because all the first years will have to be back stage dressing at the show. The theme is decided as a group as is the hair and make up. FMP students decide how they want thier garments worn. I think this group needs to be rethought.

  9. Hmm true.. I only put it in because I remember Emily saying we may need people for it. But there is quite a lot, I'll try and think of what other things may need doing. If anyone else has got any suggestions, just blog them up...

  10. Hi everyone, I will need a team of people to help me get the garments in order on the rails and work out the show order. (could this be the "styling team") It might make more sense to have a team who collate the styling ideas, and also do all the running for bits and bobs that we always need on show day (flesh pants, socks, tights, makeup etc...) I am happy for you to arrange it how you would like it though...

Oh Jade had a fab fundraising idea the other day which might be easier to arrange and will mean that you don't have to bring in money! A few people contribute hand made garments/bags/jewelry/cakes and we put this into a raffle - sell tickets to every member of staff around the college (include a cake and they will sell fast).

I can send out a college email and put it on the staff sharepoint if you like - just let me have the details - oh and you can get raffle tickets from the pound shop. We have about £10 kitty money left over from last year!

Great work here guys, well done!
